Building Maintenance Units
Building Maintenance Units (BMU's) are working platforms suspended on wire ropes from a securely mounted overhead structure or carriage - typically housed on the roof of the building. The BMU provides access to external surfaces (and internal atriums) of the building. The working platform (swinging stage) is capable of being raised or lowered in vertical 'drops'.
Most buildings in excess of around 20 stories usually have a BMU. Inaccessible areas for the BMu are usually serviced employing Rope Access techniques.
Vertical Challenge has in depth experience in the use and operation of a wide variety of Building Maintenance Units. Specific BMU's require that the Operator receive an initial induction by a trained tehcnician.
